[AnWj blood group antigens]
This blood group antigen, also known as Anton blood group antigen AnWj, is located on CD44 (Telen et al, 1993; Rao et al, 1994). van Alphen et al (1990) have shown that this erythrocyte antigen is the receptor for Haemophilus influenzae.
In the nomenclature of CD antigens this protein has been given the designation CD44. See also: blood group antigens.
