[biliary glycoprotein 1]; also BGP [biliary glycoprotein].
BGP-1 is a glycoprotein detected originally in normal human bile (Svenberg, 1976). The cDNA has been cloned by Hinoda et al, 1988). Mice contain two genes, termed Bgp1 and Bgp2. Mahrenholz et al (1993) have reported that Biliary glycoprotein 1 is identical with NCA-160 (see: NCA).
