[IL4 induced secreted protein] The protein is the murine counterpart of IL24.
FISP (220 amino acids) is expressed and secreted selectively by Th2 T-helper cells (Schaefer et al, 2001). Expression of FISP in developing Th cells requires signaling through the IL4 receptor that is dependent on STAT6 as well as T-cell receptor signaling involving protein kinase C.
Sahoo et al (2008) have identified a splice variant of mouse FISP, designated FISP-sp, which lacks 29 nucleotides from the 5' end of exon 4 of FISP. Unlike FISP, FISP-sp does not induce growth inhibition and cell death
