[pancreatitis-associated protein-2] This rat protein is related to PAP-1 (Frigerio et al, 1993). PAP-2 is a member of a multigene family of proteins expressed in several tissues, which includes PAP-1, PAP-3, and Lithostathine. Bodeker et al (1999) have reported that PAP-1, PAP-2, and PAP-3 can form heterodimers. Another designation for this protein is REG3A [REG3-alpha] (see: REG3 [regenerating islet-derived-3]).
