(uPA A6 peptide [urokinase plasminogen activator A6 peptide]) This peptide, KPSSPPEEamide (acetyl-Lys-Pro-Ser-Ser-Pro-Pro-Glu-Gluamide), is derived from the biologically active connecting peptide domain of the serine protease urokinase plasminogen activator (uPA) and corresponds to uPA(136-143) [urokinase plasminogen activator(136-143)]. The peptide does not bind to the uPA receptor (uPAR) and does not interfere with the binding of uPA to its receptor.
A6 peptide has been shown to bind to CD44, and this leads to the inhibition of migration, invasion, and metastasis of tumor cells
