ABCD-3

The murine ABCD-3 gene is located near the genes encoding ABCD-1 and ABCD-2. ABCD-3 is expressed highly in dendritic cells. ABCD-3 is not expressed in activated B-cells (Schaniel et al, 1998, 1999).

ABCD-3 belongs to the group of cytokines known as chemokines. It is the same as Fractalkine, neurotactin. The factor is known also as SCYD1. The approved gene symbol is CX3CL1.
