[a disintegrin and metalloprotease domain 20; ADAM metallopeptidase domain 20] This protein is a member of the ADAM protein family. The gene was cloned from a human testis cDNA library and appears to be expressed exclusively in the testis (Hofft-van-Huijsduijnen et al, 1998). The author has suggested that this protein may be the human functional counterpart of fertilin-alpha (see: PH-30).
