[Anticarsia gemmatalis multicapsid nucleopolyhedrovirus inhibitor of apoptosis 3] This inhibitor of apoptosis is encoded in the genome of Anticarsia gemmatalis multicapsid nucleopolyhedrovirus (AgMNPV). The encoded protein of 287 amino acids contains two BIR motifs at the aminoterminal region and a carboxyterminal RING finger motif. The protein is closely related to IAP3 proteins of baculoviruses and lepidopteran IAP proteins. Insect cells engineered to express the protein show increased resistance to cell death by apoptosis.
