B-lymphoblast antigen-1

abbr. BB1 (a term with multiple meanings). This antigen is detected by a monoclonal antibody on human and nonhuman primate B-lymphoblastoid cell lines, EBV-activated B-cell blasts, most Burkitt's lymphomas, and Ia(+) B-lymphoblast-like myelomas (Yokochi et al, 1982). In the nomenclature of CD antigens BB1 has been given the designation CD80 (Engel and Tedder, 1994).

Freeman et al (1998) have reported that the BB1 monoclonal antibody recognizes both B7-1 (CD80) and an epitope on the cell surface antigen CD74.
