BCLw

BCLw is a member of the BCL2 family of proteins. It is being referred to also as BCL2-like-2 (abbr. BCL2L2). The cDNA encoding BCLw has been identified independently as KIAA0271.

The BCLw gene is highly conserved between mouse and human and maps to human chromosome 14q11 (Gibson et al, 1996). Su et al (2004) have isolated a gene, termed c98, that is expressed specifically in epidermal keratinocytes of newborn mice injected with IGF-1. c98 has 97 % sequence identity to the BCLw protein and possesses the BCL2 homology domains (BH1, ... ... ... ... ...
