[Bone resorption stimulating factor] This biochemically uncharacterized factor (> 3.5 kDa) has been found to be produced by peripheral blood leukemic lymphocytes from patients with adult T-cell leukemia (ATL).

The factor has bone resorption activity in bioassays employing fetal mouse forearm bones in organ culture. It may be involved in hypercalcemia observed in patients with ATL.
