[Collagen-binding protein 2] The gene encoding this protein has been cloned from a cDNA library prepared from human fibroblasts (Clarke et al, 1992). The protein is one of the heat shock proteins and appears to be the human counterpart of rat gp46, J6 protein from murine F9 embryo carcinoma cells, and hsp47 from chicken embryo fibroblasts.
