CC-Chemokines

[Cysteine-Cysteine-Chemokines] one of the subgroups of the family of chemotactic proteins known as chemokines. It is defined by the location of the first two cysteine residues in the sequence, which are adjacent (Hromas et al, 1997). This group is known also as Beta-Chemokines or 17q chemokine family, due to a gene cluster on human chromosome 17q11-q32. For another systematic nomenclature of chemokines see also: SCY family of cytokines.
