This is a designation for SEMA4D (Semaphorin 4D, Semaphorin J (SEMAJ), M-sema G, collapsin-4) (see: Semaphorins). Other designations are BB18, A8, GR3.
The antigen exists in a membrane-bound form and a soluble form. It is expressed by most hematopoietic cells but not on immature bone marrow cells. It is found also in T-cells after cell activation.
Hall et al (1996) have demonstrated that CD100 induces B-cells to aggregate and improves their viability in vitro. CD100 modifies signaling between CD40 and CD40L by augmenting
