The Thomsen-Friedenreich antigen is a disaccharide [beta-D-Gal(1-3)-D-GalNAc] that is a core carbohydrate structure of O-linked oligosaccharides on glycoproteins (Hounsell and Feizi, 1982). It occurs in two anomeric forms, termed TF-alpha and TF-beta. The monoclonal antibody A78-G/A7 (Karsten et al, 1995) binds to TF-alpha and TF-beta antigen irrespective of its carrier, whereas the BW835 monoclonal antibody detects TF-alpha ... ... ... ... ...
