This is the designation for the Dombrock blood group antigen, which is encoded by the ART4 [ADP ribosyltransferase 4] gene (Ecto-ADP-ribosyltransferase 4). Gubin et al (2000) have referred to the gene as DOK1.
In an attempt to create a unified nomenclature for mammalian ADP-ribosyltransferases Hottinger et al (2010) have proposed the designation ARTC4 [ADP-ribosyltransferase C4].
