abbr. CAP-1 (a term with multiple meanings). CAP-1 binds specifically to the cytosolic domain of CD40 but not to FAS antigen (see: APO-1) or the two known receptors of TNF (Sato et al, 1995).
The CAP-1 protein contains a C-terminal domain with strong amino acid sequence homology with a unique domain of two putative signal transducing proteins binding to the cytosolic tail of the type 2 receptor for TNF, TRAF1 and TRAF2 (see: TRAF).
