The CD96 antigen is expressed on T-cells and NK-cells after cell activation (Wang et al, 1996). Kaname et al (2007) have reported that CD96 is expressed on the cell surface in a wide range of tissues. Strong expression is seen in adult lung, spleen, and thymus. Moderate expression is observed in adult spinal cord, kidney, trachea, digestive tissues, prostate, placenta, bone, and fetal brain and liver. They have reported expression in endothelial cells and blood cells.
