[CUB domain containing protein 1] The gene encoding this human protein has been identified by Scherl-Mostageer et al (2001). CDCP1 is an 836 amino acid, type 1 transmembrane glycoprotein. In the nomenclature of CD antigens this protein has been given the designation CD318.
CDCP1 represents a transmembrane protein and contains three CUB domains in the extracellular part. The protein is involved in cell adhesion and interactions with the extracellular matrix and appears to regulate cell adhesion and motility (Benes et al, 2012). The protein copurifies with src and yes tyrosine kinases in MDA-468 breast cancer cells
