[C-type lectin domain family 14 member A; C-type lectin 14A] This is the approved gene symbol for a protein that has been identified independently as CEG1. The protein is encoded by C14ORF27 [chromosome 14 open reading frame 27]. A databank synonym is EGFR5 [Epidermal growth factor receptor 5] (GenBank: AAS77882.1).

Rho et al (2011) have reported that CLEC14a is a plasma membrane protein of endothelial cells expressed specifically in the vasculature of mice.
