CRSBP-1

[Cell surface retention sequence binding protein-1] This membrane glycoprotein is expressed in all cell types and tissues examined (Boensch et al, 1995, 1999). The protein shows high affinity (Kd = 0.5-0.7 nM) binding of the cell surface retention signal contained within the sequence of PDGF-BB and VEGF (Boensch et al, 1995) and thus is involved in cell surface retention of some secreted growth factors and cytokines. The protein also binds to the same sequence motif in IGFBP3 and to hyaluronic acid (Huang et al, 2003). The ligand binding activity is inhibited by heparin, polylysine, and protamine, but not by cytochrome C (Boensch et al, 1995)
