[CD2 subset 1] The cDNA encoding this protein has been cloned by Boles and Mathew (2001). Expression is seen in an NK-cell line but not in promyelocytic, B-cell, or T-cell lines. Sequence analysis shows that the encoded protein is a member of the CD2 family of proteins and that it is identical with CRACC [CD2-like receptor activating cytotoxic cells] The approved gene symbol for this protein is SLAMF7 [signaling lymphocyte activation molecule family member 7; SLAM family member 7].
