The approved gene symbol for this receptor is CCBP2 [chemokine binding protein-2].
The D6 receptor has been described also as CMKBR9 [chemokine-beta receptor 9] (Bonini et al, 1997). It has been referred to also as CCR9 (although Bonini et al (1997) named it CCR10), a term referring to its close relationship with the rat chemokine receptor CCR10rR. NOTE: The symbols CCR9 and CCR10, which refer to two different genes, have been used incorrectly to refer to D6 (Murphy et al, 2000). In a new nomenclature, Bachelerie F et al (2013) have given the designation ACKR2 [atypical chemokine receptor 2] to this receptor.
