[DEAD box polypeptide 60] This protein, which contains a DEAD box and is a cytoplasmic RNA helicase, has been implicated in innate immunity (for a related factor see: DDX60L).
DDX60 expression is upregulated in human dendritic cells during infection with measles virus. DDX60 is required for type 1 interferon expression after DNA virus infection (vesicular stomatitis virus, Poliuovirus). After viral infection, the DDX60 binds to endogenous RIG-I protein.
