[Beta-Defensin-403] This is a bovine protein expressed in the mammary gland. It is a member of the Beta-Defensin family of antimicrobial peptides and may play a role in local host defense during udder infections (Roosen et al, 2004). In databanks the protein is being referred to also as LAP-like antimicrobial peptide or LAP-like.
