This disulfide-bonded peptide [DMYEIKGFKSAHGRPRVCPPGEQCPIWVamide] has been identified in the defensive skin secretion of the toad Bombina orientalis (Oriental fire-bellied toad) by Wang et al (2010) who also cloned the corresponding cDNA. The peptide is a bradykinin inhibitory peptide that inhibits relaxation of rat tail artery smooth muscle preparation induced by bradykinin.
