abbr. DNT1. This neurotrophic factor, identified by Zhu et al (2008), is related structurally to all known neurotrophins and is highly conserved in insects. The protein contains a Cystine knot structure. The factor is encoded by gene CG42576 and is being referred to also as spz2 [spätzle-2] (Parker et al, 2001).
