[endothelial-overexpressed lipopolysaccharide-associated factor-1] This factor has been identified by Liang and Yang (2004) in human umbilical vein endothelial cells. Its expression is induced by treatment with bacterial lipopolysaccharides. EOLA1 cDNA encodes a protein of 158 amino acids. It is expressed also in different human normal tissues and cancer cell lines. The protein associates with metallothionein-2A. Stable transfection of EOLA1 into endothelial cells stimulates cell proliferation.
