EPF-S1

[EPF-induced suppressor factor-1] The production of this biochemically uncharacterized factor of 12 kDa (Rolfe et al, 1995) is induced in lymphocytes by EPF (early pregnancy factor). Release of the suppressor factor can be stimulated also by Con A (Rolfe et al, 1988). The factor is active in T-cell dependent reactions (rosette inhibition test and adoptive transfer of contact sensitivity), inhibiting the delayed type hypersensitivity reaction in this latter assay (Rolfe et al, 1988). EPF-S1 activity is restricted to the 1 region of the mouse MHC (Rolfe et al, 1988).

EPF-S1 induces another suppressor factor, EPF-S2 (Rolfe et al, 1995). Injection of a monoclonal antibody into pregnant mice ... ... ... ... ... Subscribe to continue reading! ... ...
