[EWI motif-containing protein F] The name is derived from the presence of an EWI (Glu-Trp-Ile) sequence motif found in some members of the Ig superfamily of proteins. This sequence in not found in other Ig proteins. Stipp et al (2001) have designated the name EWI-F to a protein described originally as FPRP [FP regulatory protein, F2-alpha receptor regulatory protein, Prostaglandin F2-alpha receptor regulatory protein].
In the nomenclature of CD antigens the protein has been given the designation CD315.
