Ebola Virus Delta Peptide
This peptide of 40 amino acids is the product of variant envelope glycoprotein production, which occurs via differential mRNA editing (Sanchez et al, 1996; Volchkova et al, 2015). It corresponds to the carboxyl-terminal 40 amino-acid sequence of the soluble secreted form of the glycoprotein, which is the product of unedited glycoprotein mRNA. The peptide is produced in abundance during Ebola virus disease.
