Ectromelia virus N1L protein |
Ectromelia virus serine protease inhibitor-2 |
Toll-like receptor-22c |
||
This protein is encoded in the genome of Ectromelia virus (mousepox virus) (Senkevich et al, 1994). It is a member of a family of poxvirus proteins that are defined largely by the presence of a C-terminal RING finger domain and localization to virus factories within the cytoplasm of infected cells. The Shope fibroma virus homolog is N1R. Homologs in other viruses are vaccinia virus p28 protein and myxoma virus M143R protein.
The protein is not essential for virus growth in cell culture but is critical for EV pathogenicity in mice (Senkevich et al, 1994). Expression of the protein is required for in vitro replication of EV in murine resident peritoneal macrophages
