EndoPDI

[endothelial protein-disulfide isomerase] This protein of 48 kDa, which has the activity of a protein-disulfide isomerase, is expressed highly in endothelial cells (Sullivan et al, 2003).

The protein has been identified originally by Knoblach et al (2003) as an ER luminal protein related to protein disulfide isomerase, termed ERp46 [Endoplasmic reticulum resident protein 46; ER protein 46]. ERp46 is highly expressed in liver hepatocytes as compared with other tissues. Functional analysis with yeast complementation studies show that ERp46 can substitute for protein disulfide isomerase function in vivo. The approved gene symbol is TXNDC5 [ ... ... ... ... ...
