(FDCP = factor-dependent cell progenitors) A multipotent cell line of hematopoietic stem cells obtained by long-term murine bone long-term BMC (bone marrow culture).
FDCPmix is able to differentiate along myeloid and erythroid lineages (see also: hematopoiesis) in response to specific cytokines. The cells then give rise to mixed colonies in a colony formation assay. These cells are thought to reflect closely the situation in vivo.
