FIM2

FIM2 has been identified by Sola et al (1986) as one of integration sites of Friend helper murine leukemia virus (F-MuLV), which is known to induce a high percentage of myeloblastic leukemias in mice. The human homolog of the murine FIM2 proviral integration region corresponds to the 5-prime end of the fms gene (Roberts et al, 1988).

In the nomenclature of CD antigens this protein has been given the designation CD115.
