[Friend virus susceptibility 2] The Fv2 locus encodes a dominant host factor that confers susceptibility to Friend virus-induced erythroleukaemia in mice. Persons et al (1999) have reported that Fv2 is the same as RON, and that a naturally expressed, truncated form of this receptor confers susceptibility to Friend virus-induced erythroleukaemia. Fv2, therefore, corresponds to MST1R, the receptor for MST1 [macrophage stimulating 1], and the murine homolog STK. In the nomenclature of CD antigens this receptor has been given the designation CD136.
