[G-protein-coupled receptor-146] This receptor has been identified originally in a search for orthologs of the Rhodopsin family of human G-protein-coupled receptors (Gloriam et al, 2005). Yosten et al (2013) have reported that GPR146 is either the proinsulin C-peptide receptor or an important component of the receptor complex. Stimulation with C-peptide causes internalization of GPR146, and knock-down of GPR146 expression blocks C-peptide-induced c-fos expression in KATOIII gastric cancer cells.
