GIF (abbr. in databanks also: GLIF) is involved in the regulation of IgE synthesis and inhibits the assembly of N-linked oligosaccharides to IgE-binding factors during their biosynthesis. This 13 kDa peptide is secreted in a bioactive form by suppressor T-cells; various human and murine cell line cells secrete an inactive form into the conditioned medium.
