Granzyme C is one of the serine proteases (see: granzymes) located in the granules of cytotoxic T-cells and NK-cells. The approved gene symbol is GZMC. In cloning the cDNA, Jenne et al (1988) observed that the sequence is identical to a previously described serine protease, termed CCP2 [cytotoxic cell protease-2], of murine cytotoxic T-lymphocytes (Jenne et al, 1988).
