This murine T-helper cell-derived CD35(+) (C3b receptor) cell line of BALB/c origin does not express CD4 or CD8.
The cells are absolutely dependent on exogenous IL2 for their growth (see also: Factor-dependent cell lines). They are used in bioassays of human, rat, and murine IL2 (see also: cytokine assays). IL2 activity is determined by measuring the incorporation of tritiated thymidine into the newly synthesized DNA of the proliferating cells. Cell proliferation
