[IL3-like activity] This biochemically uncharacterized factor of 25-30 kDa is released spontaneously by cultured human peripheral-blood mononuclear cells. It stimulates the proliferative activity of several IL3 dependent cell lines (see also: Factor-dependent cell lines) and promotes the development of basophils in cultured human cord blood cells.
