INCA

[inhibitory CARD] The approved gene symbol is CARD17 [caspase recruitment domain-containing protein-17].

This protein has been identified by virtue of the presence of a CARD domain (Lamkanfi et al, 2004). INCA shares 81 % identity with the prodomain of caspase-1. INCA mRNA is expressed in many tissues and its expression is upregulated specifically by IFN-gamma in monocytes (THP-1 and U937 cells). INCA has been shown to interact with procaspase-1 and blocks the release of mature IL1-beta from macrophages stimulated by bacterial lipopolysaccharides. INCA does not interact with RIP2 and does not induce activation of ... ... ... ... ... Subscribe to continue reading! ... ...
