[innate type 2 helper cells] These cells, identified by Price et al (2010), are a population of innate immune cells participating in the initiation of adaptive immunity. The cells do not express lineage markers and express IL25 receptors and IL33 receptors. They are distributed widely in tissues of the mouse and are particularly prevalent in mesenteric lymph nodes, spleen, and liver. These cells expand robustly in response to exogenous IL25 or IL33 and after infection with the helminth Nippostrongylus brasiliensis. They are the major innate cells producing IL13 under these conditions. Activation of these cells using
