[JAK binding protein-1; Janus kinase binding protein-1] This protein has been identified in a yeast two-hybrid system as one interacting with JAK2. JBP-1 also binds murine JAK1 and JAK3 and human TYK2 (Pollack et al, 1999).
JBP-1 is considered the human homolog of the Schizosaccharomyces pombe Skb1 [Shk1 kinase-binding protein 1] (Gilbreth et al, 1996) and the protein encoded by the Saccharomyces cerevisiae HSL7 [histone synthetic lethal 7] gene. Lee et al (2000) have reported HSL7
