[K562 inhibitory factor] This biochemically uncharacterized factor of approximately 8 kDa is produced by the human erythroleukemic cell line K562. The factor inhibits adherence of human polymorphonuclear neutrophils and adherence-related functions in vitro. K562-IF also has potent anti-inflammatory activity in mice, associated with an inhibition of PMN functions (Amar et al, 1992).
