[keratinocyte differentiation-associated protein] abbr. also krtdap. This protein (rat: 98 amino acids; Human 99 amino acids) has been identified by Oomizu et al (2000). KDAP transcripts are found exclusively in the suprabasal cell layers of the embryonic epidermis and in suprabasal cells in regions of infundibulum of the hair follicle. Moffatt et al (2004) have cloned the cDNA encoding and reported that KDAP is secreted from keratinocytes. Tsuchida et al (2004) have reported that the human gene is expressed by keratinocytes and that the protein is found in the conditioned medium of keratinocytes.
