[Killer cell immunoglobulin-like receptor 3DL2] This human inhibitory NK-cell receptor for MHC class I molecules is a type I transmembrane protein (445 amino acids). The cDNA has been cloned by Colonna and Samaridis (1995) obtained a KIR3DL2 cDNA, which they called NKAT4 [NK-associated transcript-4]. Splice variants of NKAT4 have been described by Dohring et al (1996). The gene has been isolated independently by Wagtmann et al (1995) who called it CL5 [clone 5] and Pende et al (1996), who called it clone 17.1.
