A human cell line established from umbilical cord blood cells (Tamura et al, 1990). Morphologic and cytochemical studies suggest that KMT-2 cells are myelomonocytic cells, probably of immature progenitor origin. The cells are negative for peroxidase, Sudan black, chloroacetate esterase, and positive for PAS, nonspecific esterase. They express HLA-DR, MY7 = CD13, MY9 = CD33, MY10 = CD34, MCS-2, LeuM1.
