LAG-1

[LAG-1(+), LAG-1(-)]

[lymphocyte activation gene-1] This gene was isolated from human lymphocytes (Baixeras et al, 1990). It encodes a 14 kDa protein with a length of 69 amino acids. Based on structural homologies this protein belongs to the family of chemotactic cytokines known as chemokines (subgroup of CC-Chemokines).

LAG-1 is found in the conditioned medium of NK-cells. The protein is identical with MIP-1-beta (see: MIP, macrophage inflammatory protein). The factor is known also as SCYA4 and the approved gene symbol is CCL4.

The LAG-1 gene maps to chromosome 17q21. Its promoter contains a ... ... ... ... ... Subscribe to continue reading! ... ...
