[leucine-rich repeat-containing G-protein-coupled receptor 4] LGR4 was identified originally as an expressed sequence tag and named by Hsu et al (1998). The human gene has been cloned by Loh et al (2001). The protein contains multiple N-terminal leucine-rich repeats. The approved gene symbol is GPR48 [G-protein-coupled receptor-48].
